On January 1, 2021, Nannette Williams received a call from Our Heavenly Father to come home and rest, “good and faithful servant”. She was born on March 7, 1961 in Charleston, MO to the late Nannie Mae Williams. Nannette departed at the age of 59 and did so in the company of her loved ones.
Nannette graduated from Charleston High School in 1979. She was affectionately known as “Nan” to her classmates, friends and family. Nan loved to be of service to all and was never one to shy away from the opportunity. She found great joy in serving as the resident pitcher for the neighborhood kickball games, bus stop referee and entertaining family and friends.
Nannette truly loved her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend to all. She sacrificed selflessly for her family and friends. Nannette opened her heart and home to many. She embraced everyone as family.
Nannette’s greatest joy was being a soldier on the battlefield for the Lord. She was a faithful and loyal member of Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Charleston, MO. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and displayed tremendous faith in the Lord. In addition to serving as a dedicated member at Mercy Seat Baptist Church for more than 35 years, she also proudly served as a Junior Mother, President of the Ushers Board, a choir member and on the hospitality committee.
Family members who will always cherish her memory include: her children - Jamico (Cynthia) Crawford of Tijuana, Mexico, Russell Crawford of Suffolk, VA, India McCluney of Charleston, MO and Velma Clemons of Sikeston, MO; her siblings- Junetta Hamilton of Park Forest, IL, Charles McCluney of Charleston, MO and Theresa McCluney of Raytown, MO. 11 grandchildren; and a host of dearly beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
Nannette is preceded in death by her mother, Nannie Mae Williams, her brothers, Andrew Lee and Dwayne Williams and her nephew Gerald Summers.
Friends may call Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Arthur Cassell officiating.
