Nannie Mae McCluney Williams, 83, resident of Raytown, Missouri, formerly of Charleston, Missouri died Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Truman Medical Center-Lakewood in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born April 25, 1936 in Center Ridge, Arkansas to the late Earnest McCluney and Hattie Odelia Canady.
Nannie accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri where she served on the Mothers' Board and was a former Choir Director.
She was united in marriage in 1952 to Thomas Lee Williams who also precedes her in death.
Nannie worked as a Nurse's Aide at the Charleston Manor Skilled Nursing Facility in Charleston, Missouri until she became an in-home health worker. She worked in-home health care until she retired.
Crocheting, putting puzzles together and watching Hallmark Movies were Nannie's favorite pastimes. However, her greatest joy came when she would sit around the table with her children and grandchildren and share words of wisdom with them. These long talks will be remembered with love for years to come.
When things got rough and your back was against the wall, her favorites words were, "Just pray". She will be greatly but sadly missed.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by four sisters, Helen Campbell, Beulah Cunningham, Leola Goff and Iola Adams, two sons, Andrew Lee Williams and Dwayne Williams and a great grandson, Gerald.
She is survived by one son, Charles Anthony McCluney of Charleston, Missouri, three daughters, Junetta Hamilton Williams of Chicago, Illinois, Nannette Williams of Charleston, Missouri and Theresa McCluney of Raytown, Missouri, two sisters, Carolyn McCluney Green of Raytown, Missouri and Genetter (James) Bradley of Lee's Summit, Missouri, special friends, Sonya and Willie Miles of Charleston, Missouri, 14 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 2:00 P. M. until the funeral hour of 3:00 P. M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri with the pastor, Reverend Arthur Cassell officiating.
