Nora Fae Boyce, 60, died June 1, 2022 at her home in Charleston, Missouri. She was born September 17, 1961 in Wyatt, Missouri to the late Griff Bankhead and Bernice Boyce Fisher.
Nora Fae Boyce was born September 17, 1961 in Wyatt, Missouri to the late Shellie “Griff” Bankhead and Bernice Boyce Fisher. She was the first of five siblings. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Fisher and Charles Willis, one sister, Patricia Elaine Boyce, her step-dad, William Fisher, uncles, Jimmy Johnson and Joe Bankhead, Sr., aunts, Marilyn McCleary, Vonnie Isom, and Laura Byrd, grandfathers, Senus Boyce and Alonzo Bankhead, grandmothers, Frankie Bostic and Maude Bankhead-Lomax, and nephew, JauMarcus McFarland.
She attended Charleston Public Schools before moving to Lima, Ohio.
Nora was known for singing and writing songs. One of her favorite songs she loved to perform was “Very Special.” She also enjoyed drawing. Nora was also known for her big heart as she opened hers to everyone.
Nora was a very hard worker. She excelled in the tobacco field at a time when it was predominately a man’s profession. She worked at Wally’s in the kitchen doing various jobs. She loved interacting with the customers.
She had been a member of New Hope Church of God in Christ in Charleston, Missouri since 2017.
On June 1, 2022 while at her home in Charleston, Nora answered the higher call at the age of 60 years, eight months, 15 days. She will be greatly missed.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories, two sons , Barry Boyce, Jr. and Ervin Boyce of Charleston, Missouri, two brothers, James (Jessica) Boyce of Charleston, Missouri and Shellie Willis of St. Louis, Missouri, one sister, Betty Ann Fisher McGee of Charleston, Missouri, three step-sisters, Dyrnell Campbell of Charleston, Missouri, Peggy (Charlie) Etheridge and Brenda Fisher of Cleveland, Ohio, two nephews, Jeremy Boyce and Byron Jones, three nieces, Latricia Banks, Ashley Banks, and Shaunice (Torrence) Murray, three step-nephews, JauMorion Moore, Steven Moore, and Stevion Moore, an aunt, Lelia (L.V.) Wade, an uncle, Reverend Hubert D. Bankhead, the Lee Henry and Emma Davis family, a family friend, Timothy Easton, ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, June 18, 2022 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at New Hope Church of God in Christ with Pastor Samuel Johnson, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
