Otis "Corey" Koronda Henderson

Mr. Otis “Corey” Henderson, 51, resident of Bloomington, Illinois passed away Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, Illinois. He was born September 10, 1970 in Cairo, Illinois to Otis and Martha Henderson of Cairo, Illinois.

Otis attended Cairo High School and graduated in 1988.  He had several names that he was known by, in Cairo (Corey) and in Bloomington (Otis or Big O).  Otis moved to Bloomington to be provided more opportunities for greatness. He was employed by Nestle. He was a hard worker, and his bright and energetic personality touched many lives.

Otis was a very caring and straightforward person who would give anyone his last.  He enjoyed spending time with his friends and was always that person who kept you on your toes with his great sense of humor.  As a young man, he spent time in both Southern Illinois and Kentucky enjoying the sport of hunting and fishing with his friends.  He enjoyed watching his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers, and basketball team, the Los Angeles Lakers.  More than anything in this world, he would make time for his friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Mr. Otis Henderson, and his grandmother, Ms. Irene BoBo.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Ms. Martha Henderson of Bloomington IL, his family, Uncle Willie Cavitt (Vera) of Metropolis, IL, Chris Montgomery of Kansas City, MO, Almondo Coleman of McKinney, TX, Joe Coleman of Cairo, IL, Tina Cavitt of Cairo, IL, Dawanda Cannon of Cairo, IL, Frankie Preston of Winder, GA,  friend Luru Berry (Anita) of Colorado Springs, CO and Vonda Avery of Nashville, TN, and a host of other friends.

Friends may call Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri with Pastor Dr. J.L. Posey officiating.  Interment will follow in Spencer Heights Cemetery in Mounds, Illinois.
