Rachael Denise Lampkin

August 27, 1961 — June 12, 2021

Rachael Denise Lampkin, affectionately known as Niecy, 59, died Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, Missouri.  She was born August 27, 1961 in Diehlstadt, Missouri to the late Mack Powell and the late Gathella Lampkin.

Rachael was graduate of Charleston High School, class of 1979.

She was a member of Perry Chapel A.M.E Church.  She served as class leader and the chair person for all the Mother's Day bake sales.

Rachael had a passion for taking care of others.  Her past employers included the Bertrand Retirement Home and the Regional Center in Sikeston, Missouri.

She was happiest when cooking, singing or reading.  She knew and would say often "God is in control!"

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by grandparents, Bertha and Robert Lampkin and Walter and Claudia Powell, sister, Valerie Lampkin, uncles, Roy Lee Lampkin, Alonzo Hoover, Dwight Randle, Willie Randle, and Willie B. Powell, aunts, Gloria Gillespie, Christine Clark, and cousin, Adrienne Hoover.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories one son, Avery (Twyla) Lampkin of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, two daughters, Felecia Lampkin of Bertrand, Missouri and Colinthia (Sammy) Lampkin Williams of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, six siblings, Reginald Lampkin of San Diego, California, Bertha (Eric) Kellum of Peyton, Colorado, Wanda (Eric) Williamson of Sikeston, Missouri, Kathy Powell and Kenny Powell of St. Louis, Missouri and Karen Powell of New York, New York, ten grandchildren, Deneisha Clemons, Cierra Lee, Damarrius Lee, and Riyae Walton of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Rachell Mitchell of Abilene, Texas, Cameron Allen and Dominique Allen of St. Louis, Missouri, Ashaun Keeling of Paducah, Kentucky, Orlando Lee, Jr. of Howardville, Missouri, and Shamya Henry of Charleston, Missouri, two great grandchildren, Aria Allen and Delaney Allen of St. Louis, Missouri, aunts, Janice Lampkin of Whitney, Indiana, and Shelia Randle of Charleston, Missouri, special aunt, Patricia Lampkin of Charleston, Missouri, special nieces, Jamina Lowery and Erica Williamson, special nephew, Willie Jermaine Lampkin, special cousins, Charlotte (Niecy) Hoover and Shiwona Hoover, special friend/sister, Chavel Adams, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at the C.F. Bowden Civic Center with Pastor Carolyn Kent officiating.  Interment will immediately follow in Oak Grove Cemetery  with the Williams Funeral Homes of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
