Richard Theodore Gillespie, Sr., 44, resident of Charleston, Missouri, died Saturday, October 20, 2018, in Charleston, Missouri. He was born September 10, 1974 in Sikeston, Missouri to the late Theodore and Creacy Gary Gillespie, Jr.
He was a 1994 graduate of Charleston High School in Charleston, Missouri.
Richard valued hard work and had very respectful work ethics. He worked for over 20 years with Crop Production Services in Sikeston, Missouri as a Spray Rig Operator. Richard was presently employed with DeLine Farms, and had been with the company for more than six years.
He was united in marriage to Shannan Hart on August 30, 1997 in Charleston, Missouri, who survives of the home.
Richard was his own person and did things his way. He loved watching the History Channel and spending time with his children and his family. He had a very likable personality and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his parents, Theodore and Creacy Gillespie, Jr., he is also preceded in death by one sister, Denise Gillespie Fennell.
In addition to his wife, Shannon Gillespie of Charleston, Missouri, he is survived by his son, Richard Gillespie, Jr. of Charleston, Missouri, his daughter, Brianna Gillespie of Charleston, Missouri, four brothers, Marvin L. (Gloria) Gillespie, Delmar L. (Angela) Gillespie, Dennis (Stacy) Gillespie and Leonard S. (Christy) Gillespie of Charleston, Missouri, three sisters, Lydia M. Gillespie of Sikeston, Missouri, Velma L. Gillespie of Wylie, Texas and Valarie Gillespie (Andrew) Rodgers of Columbus, Georgia, his father and mother-in-law, John and Ruth Hart of Charleston, Missouri, and a host nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Friday, October 26, 2018 at 1:00 P. M. at the Clara Drinkwater Newnam Auditorium in Charleston, Missouri with Reverend Sylvester Davis, officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Missouri.
