Robert Arnell Cassel Sr. was born in Charleston Missouri to the union of Ellis & Ella Mae Cassel. While at his home in Howardville, MO, God called Robert home, August 15 th , 2020. He was preceded in death by his brother Steve Cassel and his son Jabee Cassel just three days before his own passing.
Robert, affectionately known as “Rob", enjoyed life to the fullest, he loved good music, sweets, sharp hats and having a good time with his family & friends. His infectious personality made everyone laugh. Subsequent to retirement as a welder at Trinity Industries Caruthersville, MO, he became ill and had a long battle with kidney disease. Rob fought a good fight and has finished his course.
Rob confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at St Paul Church in Henson, Missouri. He had a personal relationship with God and is now at a place with no pain, no suffering and everlasting life.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Annette Cassel; mother and father Ellis & Ella Mae Cassel of Charleston, MO; two daughters Yakeyma Lewis (Kenon) of Jonesboro, GA Charlotte Wiley of Charleston, MO; two sons, Robert Cassel II of Charleston, MO, Demone Williams of Aurora, IL: two step sons Bobby Graham and Leon Graham (Kim) of Sikeston, MO; one sister, Gloria Straughter (Donnie) of Charleston, MO; six brothers, Ellis Cassel Jr (Ella) of Peoria, IL, Marvin (Deborah) Cassel of Aurora, IL, Richard Cassel (Chrishonda) & Angelo Cassel of Sikeston, MO, Kenneth Cassel and Tommie Cassel both of Charleston, MO; thirteen grandchildren, DeMia Williams, Demir Williams, Steven Sharp Jr., Taquala Wiley, Kania Wiley, Kamiria Wiley, Kamirion Wiley, Rokerra Lewis, Brocquan Smith, Zaynairus Cassel, Robert Cassel III, Roland Cassel, Keon Graham. Five sisters-in-laws; Bobbie Smith (Don) of Howardville, MO, Joyce Polley of New Madrid, MO, Betty Watson (Bob) of Detroit MI, MayQuilla Squire of Fort Lauderdale, FL, and Beverly Boyd (Tyrone) of Swansea, Il. Two brother-in-laws; Eugene Reed (Okhui), St. Roberts, MO, Melvin Reed of Winterhaven, FL.; a very special cousin and friend O’Dell Brown and a complete family of aunts, uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 11:00 A. M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 NOON at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri with Reverend Stephen Lott as the Eulogist.
Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
