Robert Eugene Madison

Robert Eugene Madison, 76, resident of Sikeston, Missouri died Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at his home.  He was born January 3, 1943 in Venice, Illinois to the late William Dale Madison and the late Elizabeth LaFleur Madison Jones.

Upon graduating from Lincoln High School in Venice, Illinois, Robert enlisted in the United States Navy on August 17, 1960.  He served his country honorably while at the U. S. Naval Communication Station in Norfolk, Virginia until his discharge on January 30, 1962.

He was a man of many talents. Robert worked at an ammunition plant in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and as a fireman with the railroad in Depot, Illinois. He was also employed by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety as a Police Officer.  For several years, he worked at Sikeston Head Start as a Bus Driver and a Custodian.

Robert met and dated his true love, Mable Dorsey, more than 30 years ago.  On January 11, 2014, they were united in holy matrimony in Sikeston, Missouri.

He enjoyed attending New Deliverance Praise and Worship Center in Sikeston, Missouri under the leadership of Pastor Ronald Williams.

Robert loved to fish and hunt.  He spent a lot of time traveling, and he preferred doing the driving.  He enjoyed sitting on his porch, talking,  and being a jokester.  He loved his baby brother and the community that loved him also.

He leaves to cherish his wife, Mable Madison of Sikeston, Missouri, nine sons and one daughter-in-law, Rachaun Dorsey, Robert E. Madison II, Raheem Madison, Jordan Madison, Kaiden Anthony Madison, and Jaheem Madison all of Sikeston, Missouri, Robert Arsenio Eugene (Lauren) Madison of Springfield, Missouri, Terrance Dorsey of Chicago, Illinois, and Antoine Dorsey of Des Moines, Iowa, seven daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia (John) Kasky of Peoria, Illinois, Kwneshia Dorsey of Stockridge, Georgia, Gerilynn (Seleven) Smith of Nashville, Tennessee, Jerrieneika Dorsey, Andrea Dorsey, Clarissa Blissett, and Kirona Madison all of Sikeston, Missouri, three brothers and three sisters-in-law, William D. (Roberta) Madison of Charleston, South Carolina, Richard Wayne (Thelma) Madison of Carbondale, Illinois, and Ralph (Jessie) Madison of Glen Carbon, Illinois, and a host of grandchildren, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may call Monday, August 5, 2019 from 10:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 11:00 A.M. at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston, Missouri with Reverend  Ronald Williams, officiating.

Interment will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri at 2:00 pm Monday, August 5, 2019 with full military honors.  The Williams Funeral Home of Sikeston is in charge of arrangements.
