Roddy Pierce, affectionately known as Geely, 61, resident of Charleston, Missouri died Tuesday, November 23, 2021 in his home. He was born March 9, 1960 in Charleston, Missouri to the late Paul Winbush and Rovine Crider Pierce.
Roddy graduated from Charleston High School, Class of 1978. While there, he enjoyed playing basketball. He was at his best when laughing and joking. He also liked to fish.
He spent many years employed at Brown Shoe Company in Charleston, Missouri. Roddy would spend his later years working as a carpenter at various locations.
On October 14, 2011, Roddy was united in marriage to Barbara Jean Jackson. To this union no children were born.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Barbara Pierce, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin Pierce and Eric Pierce, and a sister, Lee Ethel Pierce.
Roddy is survived by his three children, Ashley Caldwell of St. Louis, Missouri, Joshua Caldwell of Charleston, Missouri, and Marquez Pierce of Sikeston, Missouri, two brothers, Greg (Tonie) Pierce of Hanover Park, Illinois and Raymond Pierce of Chicago, Illinois, two sisters, Erma Bates of Chicago, Illinois and Winda (Joseph) Ellis of Bellwood, Illinois, two brothers-in-law, Luther (Margaret) Jackson of Charleston, Missouri and Willie (Juanita) Jackson of Sikeston, Missouri, four sisters-in-law, Jean Pierce, Evon ( Rodney) McCauley and Patricia Jackson of Charleston, Missouri, and Teresa (James) Malone of Sikeston, Missouri, a special cousin, Frederick Jennings of Charleston, Missouri, and three grandchildren, Terrance Ellison, Jr., Jakiah Caldwell, and Diamond Caldwell, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday, December 9, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Williams Funeral Chapel in Charleston.
