Rose Marie Davis

Rose Marie Davis, 72, formerly of Charleston, Missouri died September 30, 2021 at her home in Pagedale, Missouri. She was born February 28, 1949 in Pinhook, Missouri to the late John and Fannie Barnett Davis.

In 1968, she graduated Charleston High School in Charleston, Missouri where she graduated at the top of her class.   She furthered her education by attending St. Louis Community College Forest Park in St. Louis, Missouri.

Rose loved the Lord. She was a prior member of West End Gospel Hall. While there, she participated in Missionary Work.

She worked for the city of Detroit, Michigan with former Mayor Coleman Young during the 1980s. Rose finally retired after being employed in retail for many years.

Rose remembered everything, especially people’s birthdays. She loved to make others laugh and smile. In her spare time, she enjoyed walking, going to the library, and playing the lottery. Rose will be truly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two brothers, John Willie “Bubba” Davis, and Howard Timothy Davis, two sisters, Ida Jean Davis-Jones and Fannie Beck, and her sister-in-law, Kathryn Davis.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, her three daughters, Stephanie Angelique Davis of St. Louis, Missouri, Yvette Therese Surrell of Tomball, Texas, and Rosandra Marie Davis of Pagedale, Missouri, three brothers, Clarence Edward (Verlean) Davis of Seattle, Washington, Sylvester Lee “Boots” Davis of Bertrand, Missouri and Roger Dale (Mary) Davis, Sr.  of Inkster, Michigan, one sister, Laverne Cathy Davis of St. Louis, Missouri, four grandchildren, Stephen Josiah Surrell, Ashleigh Chantell Boston-Davis, Charity Divine Surrell, and Naomi Joy Surrell, two great-grandchildren, Celine Zoey Dorsey and Camille Darlene Harrell, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 Noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Arthur Cassell officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Homes of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
