Ruth B. Harris

Ruth B. Harris, 68, resident of Charleston, Missouri, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at her sister's home in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  She was born January 1, 1950 in Pinhook, Missouri to the late Huriah Fennell, Sr. and Rosie Lee Whitney Fennell.

Ruth graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1967.

In 1968, she married Charles W. Harris.  They eventually moved to Benton Harbor, Michigan where their son, Charles W. Harris, Jr. was born.

Ruth was employed by Bibco Corporation for many years as a supervisor.  She attended Lake Michigan College where she earned her supervisory certificate.

In 1995, she moved back to her hometown of Charleston, Missouri to help take care of her mother and father.  She then joined the House of Prayer Outreach Center in Charleston, Missouri under the leadership of Apostle JoAnne McCauley.

Ruth loved her family dearly and she enjoyed helping people.  Her passion was cooking and feeding others, and there was nothing she could not master.

In addition to her father and mother, Huriah and Rosie Fennell, Sr., Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Harris, Sr., paternal grandparents, Andrew Fennell, Sr. and Susie Fennell, maternal grandparents, Walter Whitney, Sr. and Susie Mix Whitney, one brother-in-law, Clint Hunter, Jr., and one sister-in-law, Denise Gillespie Fennell.

Ruth is survived by her son, Charles W. Harris, Jr. of Charleston, Missouri, six brothers, Joe (Shirley) Fennell, Sr. of Fort Myers, Florida, Jonnie Fennell, Sr., Henry Lee Fennell, Huriah (Irness) Fennell, Jr., Willie B. Fennell, and Glenn (Wanda) Fennell, Sr. all of Charleston, Missouri, one sister, Willie Mae Hunter of Benton Harbor, Michigan, one aunt, Erma Whitney of Charleston, Missouri, one uncle, Ben Thomas of Chicago, Illinois, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Friends may call Friday, November 23, 2018 from 11:00 am until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at House of Prayer Outreach Center in Charleston, Missouri with Reverend Ronald Sloan officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Missouri.
