Sechrone Wade

November 30, 1957 — June 10, 2024

Sechrone Wade, affectionately known as Shay to his family, was born November 30, 1957 in Charleston, Missouri to Arlee and Lloyd Wade, Jr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe Anderson and Leonard Brewer.

Sechrone was baptized at a young age and maintained his own personal relationship with the Lord throughout his life.

In 1976, he graduated from Charleston High School in Charleston, Missouri, and went on to attend Metro Business College in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. In 1978, Sechrone joined the United States Marine Corps. He received the Good Conduct Medal and served his country honorably.

He loved his family and was known to be a giver. He was always willing to give a helping hand to his family, friends, and community. Sechrone was soft-spoken, sweet, friendly, kindhearted, and, above all, he greatly loved his family. He was always saying, “I’m blessed.” One of the last things he said was, “Is my family here?” They indeed held a special place in his heart.

Sechrone departed this world on Monday, June 10, 2024, while at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He peacefully transitioned at the age of 66 years, six months, and 11 days in the presence of family.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Contanya Perry of Albany, Georgia; three daughters, Dawn Wade of Atlanta, Georgia, Hadass (Jack Norton) Wade of Chicago, Illinois, and Malika-Marie (Joe) Wade Fallin of Albany, Georgia; five brothers, Walter (Ella) Brewer, Arnold (Dollye) Brewer, and Floyd (Lydia) Wade all of Charleston, Missouri, and Sevand (Jeanette) Brewer and Lloyd (Jacque) Wade III of Columbia, Missouri; seven sisters, Gloria Cornley, Brenda Rodgers, Francine (Willie) Triplett, Gwendolyn Wade, and Rochelle (Arnold) Fitzgerald all of Charleston, Missouri, Glenda (Steven) Clay of Ballwin, Missouri, and Regina (David) Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri; two granddaughters, Mi’Asia Jones and Lilyana Fallin; cousin and close friend, Eric Cassell; step-grandson, Skot Dorris; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, adopted family, and friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the United Methodist Church in Charleston with Pastor Floyd Wade, Sr. of St. Matthews Full Gospel Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors.
