Shonta Renard Green, Jr., 22, resident of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, formerly of Sikeston, Missouri died February 4, 2019 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He was born April 6, 1996 in Sikeston, Missouri to Tanya Baker Mitchell of Nicholson, Georgia and Shonta Renard Green, Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida.
In 2007, Shonta moved from Sikeston, Missouri to Blytheville, Arkansas. He attended Blytheville High School and was a graduate of the class of 2014.
After graduation, Shonta worked at Kinder Morgan, Inc. where he was an Operator 1.
Shonta was a very giving person. He had a passion for cutting hair, and he loved music and dancing. He had much love and respect for his family and friends. You would often hear him talking about his family and friends as he truly enjoyed bonding with them. He never met a stranger and anyone that knew Shonta Green, Jr. knew him as an uplifting person.
He is preceded in death by his grandfathers, Lewis Moore and Samuel Marshall, and a cousin, Chortez Green.
Shonta is survived by his mother, Tanya (Glen) Mitchell of Nicholson, Georgia, his father, Bishop Shonta (Totanesha) Green, Sr. of Jacksonville, Florida, two brothers, Cedrick Jenkins, Jr. of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Malik Green of Lithonia, Georgia, two sisters, Shania Mitchell of Nicholson, Georgia and Denice Brown-Green of Jacksonville, Florida, three step brothers, Glen Mitchell, Jr. and Terion Mitchell of Paducah, Kentucky and Lekieven Burrow of Sikeston, Missouri, three step sisters, Shalonda Mitchell of Paducah, Kentucky, Vantasia Jennings of Jacksonville, Florida, and Lily Lockhart of Sikeston, Missouri, one grandfather, Apostle Nathaniel (Rose) Green of Sikeston, Missouri, two grandmothers, Barbara (Donald) Brass and Erma Green of Sikeston, Missouri, his Godmother, Audrey (Dee Dee) Owens of Sikeston, Missouri, and a host of uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, February 9, 2019 from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P. M. at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston, Missouri with Reverend Jay Slaughter, eulogist, and Apostle Anthony G. Green, Sr. and Elder Anthony D. Green officiants.
Interment will follow in the Sunset of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Home in Sikeston, Missouri
