Shyree Adrianna Pullen was born December 24, 1992 to the late Sharla Rosanna Pullen and Pierre Jackson in Little Rock, Arkansas. She accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Melrose Park, IL, under the leadership of the late Pastor Harry McNelty. After moving to Aurora, IL, Shyree became a member of the St. John AME Church in Aurora, Illinois under the leadership Pastor Jesse Hawkins. At St. John, she was very proud to be a member of the young adult ministry.
Shyree began her formal education at the Harry McNelty Elementary School in Melrose Park before transferring to Kamalii Elementary School in Kihei Maui, Hawaii. She graduated from Waubonsee Valley High School in 2011. After graduation, Shyree matriculated at Northern Illinois University where she excelled in Biology, Chemistry and Creative Arts.
In the mold of her Grandmother, Dr. Earnestine “Tina”, Shyree enjoyed traveling and new experiences. Among Shyree’s many experiences was her opportunity to serve as a page and tour guide at the Oxford University in England, participation in a music festival at the Vatican in Rome and again in Venice, Italy. She participated in the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Delteen’s Group, the Jabberwock cotillion and was successful in becoming Ms. Jabberwock 2010. Shyree was also a participant in one of the NASA space camps in Gulf Port, Mississippi. Additionally, she had the opportunity to send care packages to U.S. soldiers stationed overseas, as an assistant in First Lady Michelle Obama’s Operation Care Package. Shyree received a number of awards and recognitions, one that she was particularly proud of was from her participation in the NAACP College of DuPage ACT-SO program and her participation in the Girl Scouts conference in Maui, Hawaii.
Shyree transitioned from her mortal life to eternal life on January 24, 2022 at 8:52.a.m at the Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, Illinois. She was surrounded by her family at her bedside as the angels welcomed her into HIS heavenly garden.
Shyree will always be remembered by her bright infectious smile, warm personality, generous spirit and her willingness to help and serve others. She leaves to treasure her memory her Grandmother Earnestine “Tina” of Aurora, IL , her Uncles / “Big Brothers” Keiland (Amber) of Aurora, IL, and Kermaine (Kimberly) of Plainfield, IL, younger cousins Dai Brianna, Alyssa, Keirra and Kyle along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Shyree lived a purposeful life and when it was complete God called her home.
Friends may call Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 11:00 a. m. until the funeral hour of 12:00 Noon at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri with Elder Elisha Pullen officiating. Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery in Cape Girardeau, Missouri with the Williams Funeral Homes of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
