Sidguordney Jacques Straughter

Sidguordney Jacques Straughter, affectionately known as “Sid”, was born April 19, 1989 in Sikeston, MO to Tamara Straughter and Vernon Evans.  She is preceded in death by two brothers, Vernon Haynes and Tobias Moore, one sister , Kimyata “Nu-Nu” Haynes, maternal grandparents, Wilma Jean Straughter and Billy Gene Oliver.

Sid started her journey called life being raised in Charleston, MO.  She later moved to Columbia where she blossomed into the person we have grown to love today.  Sid was always a very laid back and cool person who loved all her family dearly. Her kids were her everything.  She loved being around family and friends, and she always made sure everything was ok.

On the early morning of December 6, 2021, Sidgourney was called home while at the University Hospital in Columbia, MO at the age of 32.

Sid is survived by her mother, Tamara Straughter, her father, Vernon Evans, one son, La’journious Cortez Straughter, two daughters, Nierra Marrie Straughter and Amira Joy Straughter, eight sisters, Shertrica Haynes, Gina (Bernard) Betts, Kiesha Henderson, Miesha (Jequasia Jones) Henderson, and Jalisa Bogan, all of Charleston, MO, Funtasia Clark, Adrennia Evans, and Valicia Evans, all of St. Louis, MO, seven brothers, Zecoby Moore, Shannon (Danielle) Henderson, Kevonte Ulmer, Wesley Williams, and Deveontrez McCain, all of Charleston, MO, Christopher Nunnally of Chicago, IL, and Brent Williams of Jacksonville, FL, three aunts, Kimberly Evans, Nalani Straughter, and Renada Moore, six uncles, Fredrick Evans, Ruben Evans, Fletcher Moore, Adrian Straughter, Demetrius Straughter, and Andre Moore, paternal grandparents, Freddie and Yvonne Evans, a very special friend, Javonna Kimble, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 1:00 P.M. until the funeral hour of 2:00 P.M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Thomas Evans, Sr. officiating.  Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Homes of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
