Sonya Marie Wallace Miles, 61, affectionately known as "Sandra", resident of Charleston, MO, transitioned to her heavenly home on August 27, 2021 in Sikeston, MO. She was born June 9, 1960 in Wyatt, MO to Evelyn Wallace and the late John Oscar Miller, Jr.
She was a 1978 graduate of Charleston High School in Charleston, MO.
In 1993, she was united in marriage to Willie Miles, who survives of the home.
Sandra truly loved the Lord and dedicated her life to serving Him. She was a member of Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri where she served as church clerk for almost 30 years. She previously served as a children’s Sunday school teacher and an usher.
She was a very creative person with various hobbies. Sandra was known for her fashion sense, creating fabulous ensembles, and handcrafting colorful bracelets. Sandra had a heart of gold and she expressed her love of family and friends through acts of service and gifting. On multiple occasions, Sandra would gift bracelets to those she loved, even removing bracelets from her own wrist to share with others.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Oscar Miller, Jr., her maternal grandparents who raised her, Reverend Ernest and Safrona Wallace, her sister Joyce Riley, her brother-in-law, Richard Miles, Sr., her great-aunt Sarah Akins, and her niece, Shay Bellamy.
She is survived by her husband and soulmate, Willie Miles of Charleston, MO, her mother Evelyn Wallace of Kansas City, MO, her mother-in-law, Jullie Boldes of Charleston, MO, her children Adrein (Annette) Wallace of Charleston, MO, Cartez Wallace and WyKeshia (William) Atkins, Jr. of Cape Girardeau, MO, and Tanisha (Lawrence) Roberts of St. Louis, MO, her sisters, Sherry (Willard) Senter of Clarksville, TN, Judy (Michael) Pratcher of Belton, TX, Jennifer Miller of Paducah, KY, Flora (Thomas) Murray of Oklahoma City, OK, Sonya Miller Bailey of Cambria, IL, Mickey Washington and Jenette (Favis) Johnson of Charleston, MO, Jonae Miller, Angela Miller, Amanda Serrano, Latisha Serovey, Natalie Miller and Nicole Miller of Ft. Wayne, IN, her brothers, Ray (Rose) Wallace of Kansas City, MO, John Miller Jr., Harold Serrano, John Serrano and Dustin Serovey of Fort Wayne, IN, Harold (Alfa) Waller of Goshen, IN, Jimmy Lindell and Charles Washington of Charleston, MO, and Dameon Jones of Kendallville, IN, her sisters-in-law, Sheila Miles of Bertrand, MO, and Annie Miles of Charleston, MO, her grandchildren, Aiden Wallace, Talaiyah Wallace, Cartez Wallace, Jr., LaPaige Hughes, Cortney Triblett, Sydni Atkins, and Adrein Wallace, Jr., and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, “bonus” siblings, children, and grandchildren and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 12:00 noon at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Arthur Cassell officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery with the Williams Funeral Homes of Charleston in charge of arrangements.
