Susan Diane Suggs, 62, resident of Charleston, Missouri, died Friday, October 19, 2018 at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. She was born January 31, 1956 in Tiptonville, Tennessee to the late Charlie Ramsey and Helen Jarrett.
She was a graduate of Charleston High School class of 1974 and received her Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education from Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
Education was an integral part of who she was, Susan worked at the Delta Area
Economic Opportunity Corporation (DAEOC) Head Start Program in Charleston, Missouri as a teacher for over 44 years molding the lives of many area children and their families.
Susan enjoyed crafts, gardening and scrap booking. Her life revolved around her children and grandchildren.
On November 3, 1979 she was united in marriage to Kerry L. Suggs, who survives of the home. They have shared 39 years of happiness.
In addition to her husband, Kerry L. Suggs, she is survived by two daughters, Shamika L. Suggs of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Nekia T. Suggs of Arlington, Texas, four grandchildren, Yasmeen Rodgers, Inayah Rodgers, Jibreel Rodgers and Nasir Rodgers of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, one brother, Bradford (Carolyn) Jones of Charleston, Missouri and two sisters, Jannett (Michael) Wilderness and Sandra Ramsey of Charleston, Missouri, one uncle, Clarence (Ozella) Garland of Tiptonville, Tennessee, two aunts, Deloris L. (Marshall) Howard and Barbara (Troy) Jumper of Bloomington, Illinois and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 2:00 P. M. until the funeral hour of 3:00 P. M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston with Reverend Darren Horrell officiating. Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery near Charleston, Missouri.
