Susie Mae Robinson Brown passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at her home in Miami, Florida, while bravely battling cancer. The sun set, the moon rose, and the Aurora Borealis ushered her to heaven.

She was born on August 25, 1953, in Union City, Tennessee, to the late Sammy Lee Robinson and Margaret Murphy Robinson. She was raised in Charleston, Missouri with the help of her bonus father, Bobby Lee Johnson, Sr., and attended Charleston High School, where she was a member of the 1973 graduating class.

After high school, she moved to Michigan City, Indiana, where she met and married the love of her life, the late Benjamin Franklin Brown, Sr. Susie made friends wherever she went. She was always kind, welcoming, and available to provide a listening ear and compassionate advice.

Susie dedicated her life to the care and compassion of others. Throughout her life, she worked as a nurse’s assistant, daycare attendant, home health aide, factory worker, and grocery store baker. No matter the role, she did it with love.

Beloved Gran Gran to Savannah and Olivia, Susie moved to Miami in 2011 when her oldest granddaughter, Savannah, was born. She loved being a grandmother, volunteering in the girls’ classrooms, on school field trips, and supporting them in any way she could.

Susie is preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Sammie Lee Robinson; bonus father, Bobby Lee Johnson Sr.; adoptive grandmother, "Mama" Lucy Baker Hodge; sisters, Mary Lucy Robinson, who passed away as an infant, Doris Howard, and Beverly Johnson; and brothers,    Michael Robinson, Willis “Willie” Robinson, Anthony Robinson, Ernest Johnson, and Bobby Johnson, Jr.
