Teresa Evette Patterson Steward was born August 1, 1969 at St. Mary’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri to Gwendolyn and Isaac Patterson. She is preceded in death by her father, Isaac Patterson.
She graduated in 1987 from Hazelwood Central High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She attended Sikeston Area Vocational School from 1989 to 1995 where she received certificates in general clerical, accounting, medical terminology, and medical coding. She also attended Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, Missouri from 1987 to 1988 where she majored in physical therapy.
Teresa worked as a medical technologist and a certified nursing assistant at Clearview Nursing Center in Sikeston, Missouri. She was well known for her management positions in the Sikeston area.
Teresa married Maurice Steward on July 4, 2009.
In her free time, she loved to play bingo, catch up with family and close friends, going to church, crossword puzzles, journaling, and watching her cooking shows. She was known for her affectionate laugh, smile, personality, and sense of humor. She loved her kids, grandkids, and parents so much. She was a daddy’s girl.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Maurice Steward of Sikeston, Missouri, her son, Byron Patterson of Sikeston, Missouri, her daughter, Alayna (Antonio Sutton) Patterson of Sikeston, Missouri, her step daughters, Laquisha Johnson and Tyanne Townsend, her mother, Gwendolyn Patterson of Sikeston, Missouri, her brothers, Isaac (Denise) Patterson of Oran, Missouri, and Montell (Cynthia) Fisher, Xavier Patterson, and Zayvion Patterson all of St. Louis, Missouri, her sister, Tanisha (Darrion) Dale of St. Louis, Missouri, her grandsons, Julius Hudson, Jr., Byron Patterson, Jr., Royal Patterson, and Antonio Sutton, Jr., her granddaughters, Alyric Patterson, Aleece Sutton, and Honesty Patterson, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Friends may call Friday, April 28, 2023 at Green Memorial Church of God in Christ in Sikeston, Missouri at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. with Bishop Calvin Bird officiating. Interment will immediately follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston, Missouri. The Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
