TyShanta Catrice Williams affectionately known as Baby Little and Ty, was born December 15, 1983 in Sikeston, Missouri to Stevie Williams and Amanda Rodgers Williams. She is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Amanda Butler and Bryant Rodgers, James Lula Williams and Delmo Dean. A host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
TyShanta accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Earl Brown at St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church.
Tyshanta graduated from Charleston Sr. High School in the year of 2002. While attending Charleston High, she was active in basketball, and track. She was enthusiastic and a dedicated alumni and Bluejay fan. TyShanta was the 2024 Charleston Bluejays Football Homecoming Grand Marshall.
TyShanta started working at 16 years of age, and worked her entire life. She always paid it forward by volunteering her time to youth activities and community service. She sacrificed a lot of her time coming up with ideas with the upmost dedication giving back to our community. TyShanta helped create and was a member of Charleston Community Takeover (CCT). She also organized her own AAU girls basketball program by the name of Bootheel Lady Comets.
On Thursday, November 7, 2024, she was suddenly taken from our midst while in her home in Charleston, Missouri at the age of 40 years, 10 months and 23 days.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her parents, Stevie and Amanda Williams both of Charleston, Missouri, one daughter, La'Myia Williams of Charleston, Missouri, one granddaughter, Nalani Grimsley of Charleston, Missouri, one sister, A’Shanti Williams of Charleston, Missouri, a special grandmother, Vernice Ivy of Charleston, Missouri, three godchildren, Myketraies Miles of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Marneka Turk of Charleston, Missouri, and Terrance Ellison Jr. of Jefferson City, Missouri and a host of aunts, uncles, special nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
Friends may call Saturday, November 16, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri. Interment will immediately follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
