Willie Earl Ealy, Jr.

Willie Earl Ealy, Jr., 72, resident of Matthews, Missouri, died Friday, September 7,  2018 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri.  He was born April 27, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Willie Earl Ealy, Sr. and the late Rachel Carter Ealy.

He graduated from East High School in Howardville, Missouri, where he played basketball.   He was a very good athlete, and he loved sports.

Willie served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from August 1964 until July 1968.  He received a National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal during his tour of duty.

Willie was raised in the church.   He was a baptized believer in God, and he enjoyed studying the bible.  He was a selfless man, who knew how to treat those around him.  Willie wanted the best for others even if it meant him giving them his last.

He was a hard-working man, who loved providing for his family. Willie was employed as a police officer in St. Louis, Missouri for many years.  He also served as Chief of Police in Kinloch, Missouri and in Wellston, Missouri.

He was proud of all of his children and his grandchildren.  He was very supportive of them, and wanted them to excel.  He enjoyed watching their dreams come true.

Willie loved life and insisted on living his life in his own way.  He was outgoing and loved to travel.  Willie owned horses, and on occasion could be found at the horse track, or maybe even the dog track.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by one daughter, LaToya Brown, three brothers, Arthur Ealy, Terry Ealy, and Kerry Ealy, and one sister, Sharon Tabron.

Willie is survived by five sons, Kony Ealy of New Madrid, Missouri, Jaron Ealy and Danny (Regina Wilson) Jones of St. Louis, Missouri, Keenan Ealy of Sacramento, California, and Diamond Ealy of Hollywood, California, five daughters, Cierra Jones of New Madrid, Missouri, Raishonda (Roy) Jefferson-Lampton of Bowie, Maryland, Artondria Bentley, Kashina (Floyd) Bell, and Quishia (Demetrius) Lesure of St. Louis, Missouri, four brothers, Nathaniel (Ivory) Ealy of New Madrid, Missouri, Allan (Naomi) Ealy of Florissant, Missouri, Kenneth (Shirley) Ealy of St. Louis, Missouri, and Willie Ray (Ruby) Ealy of Forrest, Mississippi, three sisters, Faye Doris Jones of Dellwood, Missouri, Sonja (Curtis) Jones of Hazelwood, Missouri, and Faith (Paul) Arnold of St. Louis, Missouri, one sister-in-law, Janice Ealy of Overland, Missouri, one brother-in-law, Kenneth Tabron of St. Louis, Missouri, 21 grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 at 10:30 am at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri with full military honors.
