Woodrow Anderson, Jr., 68, resident of Charleston, Missouri, died Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri. He was born August 13, 1956 in Luxora, Arkansas to the late Woodrow Anderson Sr. and Pearllean Maggie Howard. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Anderson, his brother, Tony Anderson, his sister, Betty Anderson, and his grandson, Tyrone Anderson, Jr.

He accepted Christ in his life and attended Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston.

He graduated from Lincoln School in Charleston in 1974.

He was united in holy matrimony to Mrs. Roxie Ann Chapman on August 13, 1977. They shared over 40 years of love together until her early departure in 2018.

Woodrow enjoyed doing anything with his hands. He worked as a mechanic, handyman, and a contractor. He enjoyed fixing up houses.

He was an outside guy and never sat still. You would mostly catch him watching basketball or driving around town in his truck with his arm hanging outside the door. He enjoyed hanging with his brothers, Eddie and James. He also enjoyed hanging out with his good friend, Carnell.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his sons, Woodrow Chapman, Tyrone (Nikki) Chapman, and Jermaine Anderson of Charleston, Missouri, his daughters, Victoria Anderson and Lashonda Anderson of Charleston, Missouri, his brothers, Eddie Patterson of Charleston, Missouri, James Anderson of Dogwood, Missouri, Lawrence Anderson of Yuma, Arizona, and Marshall Anderson of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, his sisters, Peggy Anderson of Charleston, Missouri, Shirley Anderson and Pearlean Anderson of Sikeston, Missouri, Rosie Townsend of Carbondale, Illinois, Vienna Anderson of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Patsy Anderson and Joyce Anderson of Metropolis, Illinois, a special niece, Tasha Green, 11 grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may call Saturday, January 18, 2025 at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1:00 P.M. at Mercy Seat Missionary Baptist Church in Charleston, Missouri. Interment will immediately follow services in Oak Grove Cemetery in Charleston with the Williams Funeral Homes in charge of arrangements.
